Our Passion for Stripes

The Stripes Company was conceived as a tribute to the Deckchair, reviving stripes in all the bold and beautiful brilliance of seaside, sports and leisure. Established in 2007, we’ve specialised in woven striped fabric products for over 17 years.

The Power of Colour

As a stripes fabric specialist, we understand the connection of maximising colour. We see how stripes work for you. In the Home, on the Beach and in the Garden. Bringing consistency, vibrancy, and energy to everyday spaces.

Founded with a Vision

Founded by Maria Hopwood, we’ve stayed true to our ethos of keeping the company small and streamlined, operating almost entirely online. Our dedicated team delivers exceptional service, and all designs are created in-house using trusted suppliers.

Reviving Tradition

Imagine the traditional English seaside, reclining on a striped deckchair under the sun. Or the Edwardian garden, with croquet or tennis. From vintage hardware shops to today, we’ve brought retro sporting stripes back to life - reviving a treasured ritual at every level of leisure.

Modern Heritage

We’ve reinvented full-English retro stripes with a modern twist. Today we offer an expanding range of deckchair canvas, interior fabrics, trimmings, and accessories. Perfect for modern leisure - garden days, glamping, festivals, or holiday rentals.

Bespoke Craftsmanship

We provide a bespoke service for replacement directors chair covers and deckchair slings, in a wide variety of stripes and plains. We also make custom curtains and blinds, with coordinating trimmings. Our interior stripe fabrics are trusted by upholsterers, event companies, and interior specialists worldwide.

Loved by Home & Trade

Interior designers have long used classic stripes to add balance and elegance. Our imaginative collections have garnered a loyal following, among both public and trade customers.
